We know that this is an exciting moment in your lives as you embark on a life-long commitment to each other. Remember that marriage in the Catholic Church is a sacrament of great importance. "The Sacrament of Marriage is a covenant, which is more than a contract ... The marriage covenant refers to the relationship between the husband and wife, a permanent union of persons capable of knowing and loving each other and God. The celebration of marriage is also a liturgical act...Catholics are urged to celebrate their marriage within the Eucharistic Liturgy." (from the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults).
Please plan ahead for your wedding. Arrangements should be made with us at least 6 months in advance of your proposed wedding date. And please see us first BEFORE you book the venue. A date may be set during your pre-nuptial interview with one of our priests, or you can wait on setting the date until you make the arrangements with the venue. Committing yourself with the church first will preclude any delays and inconveniences when it comes time to booking the date for your reception.
Begin the process by downloading and filling out the interview request form (see below). Take note that at least one of the people getting married must be a registered parishioner of St. Peter's.
